Some Days

Some days I just have to do stuff, like applique skirts and repair bed cushions, and buy zips. I made this cushion when I was in the full flight of my Babushka Doll fixation a couple of years ago. I made her cushion shape out of a sandwich of two pieces of cotton wadding cut to shape and some bouncy synthetic wadding in the middle. This has held its shape much better than the other one I made which was just stuffed. The face was done with fabric pen stitched over with running stitch in embroidery thread. She was caught up in a bedroom skirmish so her ‘base’ has come loose. She will probably sit in my sewing room for a couple of months ’til I get to her, but I don’t mind having her for company.
